The ministry of Pastor Chris Surber is characterized by a deep love for the
study of the Bible and a genuine commitment to the teaching of God's word in ways that are relevant and applicable to daily living. His passion for God is plainly visible in His life and ministry.
Pastor Chris often says, "The Christian life is about strapping on your sandals, picking up your walking stick and following after the Master of Mercy; Jesus Christ!"
Pastor Chris is a military veteran of ten years, having served for eight years in the United States Marine Corps and two years in the Minnesota Army National Guard.
He has earned the Bachelor of Science in Religion from
Liberty University and the Master of Arts in Religion from
Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently dual enrolled; nearing the completion of the Master of Divinity degree from Liberty while pursuing the Doctor of Sacred Theology with
The North Tennessee Bible Institute and Seminary.
Before serving here in Illinois, he served as the Assistant Pastor at
The Kirk of Dunedin Community Church in Dunedin Florida and was the Pastor of First Congregational Church of Cheboygan, Michigan. Before pursuing full time ministry, he was active in local churches and involved in nursing home, retirement community, and rescue shelter outreach ministry.
He has been married to his partner in life and ministry, Christina, for seven years. He has three sons.
